- Consent
1.1 By using this website, or on acceptance of our quotation, you agree to these terms and conditions
1.2 All images, text, names, domain names, trademarks and service marks on this site are subject to copyright and/or intellectual property.
1.3 Nothing on this website, or part thereof, may be copied, used, redistributed or reproduced in any way whatsoever without prior written consent of the site owner.
1.4 These terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.
- Image Quality, Scope and Adjustments
2.1 PRICING: Quoted prices are fixed based on the information and images provided. In cases where an image is severely damaged or requires significantly more time than reasonably anticipated, additional charges may apply. Any such charges will be quoted and agreed upon before further work proceeds.
2.2 IMAGE RESOLUTION: For best results, images should be supplied at a minimum of 600dpi or approximately 6 megapixels. Please refer to our “how to prepare your image” guide.
2.3 LOW_RESOLUTION IMAGES: We can work on lower‑resolution images; however, results may be limited by the quality of the original. John’s Photo Restoration is not liable for any loss of detail or reduced quality caused by low‑resolution source material.
2.4 LIMITATIONS OF RESTORATION: While every effort is made to achieve the best possible result, full restoration is not always achievable due to the condition, clarity, or resolution of the original image.
2.5 INCLUDED ADJUSTMENTS: Each restoration includes up to three minor adjustments at no additional charge. Minor adjustments include small blemish removal, light/contrast tweaks, and minor colour refinements.
2.6 MAJOR CHANGES: Requests that fall outside the original scope, including re‑restoration, facial reconstruction, major colourisation changes, or stylistic reinterpretation, are considered major changes and will be quoted separately.
2.7 UNRESOLVABLE REQUESTS: If a customer’s requested changes fall outside what is technically achievable or outside the agreed scope, John’s Photo Restoration reserves the right to decline further work and to charge for all work completed up to that point.
- Payment
3.1 CURRENCY: All prices are stated in Australian dollars (AUD).
3.2 DEPOSIT: A deposit is required before restoration work begins. This amount is credited toward the final invoice.
3.3 PROOFS and PAYMENT: Watermarked proofs are supplied for review along with a fourteen-day invoice for the remaining balance. Final high‑resolution files and/or prints are only released once full payment has been received.
3.4 PAYMENT METHODS (AUSTRALIA): Australian customers can pay by electronic funds transfer, or cash (if collecting in person).
3.5 INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS: While payment can be made in a range of currencies, the stated price in Australian dollars (AUD) is the definitive amount.
3.6 PAYMENT METHODS (International or Card Payments): For overseas customers — or Australian customers wishing to pay by Mastercard or Visa — payments can be made securely via Stripe.
3.7 STRIPE INVOICES: Stripe invoices include a secure online payment link and are available on request. Stripe payments attract a 3% surcharge
3.8 PAYMENT OBLIGATION: Customers agree to pay their invoice by the due date.
3.9 FINAL DELIVERY: Upon completion of the work and receipt of full payment, the final high‑resolution image will be supplied by email. Prints will be released or posted once payment is received.
3.10 RELEASE OF WORK: No digital files or printed materials will be released until full payment has been received.
- Copyright
4.1 We are unable to work with images that are subject to copyright or infringe intellectual property or copyright law.
4.2 Customers are advised that copyright on images taken by a professional photographer is owned by the photographer, not their customer. Images that have been previously manipulated may also be subject to intellectual property rights.
4.3 In sending an image to us, the customer accepts that it is their sole responsibility to ensure that it is free of incumbencies. The customer warrants and affirms that the image is not subject to copyright and that no copyright or the rights of any third party will be infringed.
4.4 The customer agrees to absolve Johns Photo Restoration and their officers from any action relating to copyright on images the customer has supplied. John’s Photo Restoration and its officers will not be liable to the customer or any third party for such copyright infringement, whatever the circumstances. The customer agrees that they will be solely liable for any copyright or intellectual property claim that may arise.
4.5 Our restoration work on any image we have worked on remains the intellectual property of Johns Photo Restoration. Any publishing of such image must include the tag: “Image restored by https://Johnsphotorestoration.com”
- Privacy
5.1 We take the privacy of our customers very seriously and will never do anything to knowingly compromise the trust placed in us.
5.2 Customer details held by us are never shared with any third party.
5.3 Finished restored images are forwarded to clients by email and not shared with any third party.
5.4 Customer details and images are retained for a minimum of three years.
5.5 John’s Photo Restoration may, from time to time, publish customer images we have restored to market our services. This may include the original image and the restored version for comparison. No customer information, including names or location, will ever be disclosed
5.6 Customers are deemed to have consented to clause 5.5 unless we receive written notification to the contrary.
- Site Security
6.1 For security reasons, images that can be uploaded are limited to jpg, jpeg, png and gif. If you have requirements outside these limitations, please contact us through our contact page.
6.2 While every endeavour is made to keep the Website free from viruses, Johns Photo Restoration does not make any guarantee or representations that the Website is secure or free from viruses.
6.3 Persons using this site must take the necessary steps to ensure appropriate security measures are installed on their device or computer and utilise a virus scanner before downloading any information, software or documentation from the Website.
6.4 Johns Photo Restoration will not be responsible for the transmission of malicious software to or from this site.
6.5 Persons using this site must not misuse our Website by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, malware or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful.
- Limitation of Liablity
7.1 In no event shall John’s Photo Restoration nor its owners or officers be liable for anything arising out of or in any way connected with your use of this Website. Nor shall John’s Photo Restoration be held liable for any indirect or consequential liability arising out of or in any way related to your use of this Website.
- Jurisdiction
8.1 The courts of the state of Western Australia shall have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms & Conditions.
