Restore old Slides with
Premium Slide Digitisation
In the latter half of the 20th century, slides became a favourite format for home photography, capturing countless family moments on transparency film. Today, I can restore old slides with expert digitisation, making them print‑ready and preserving every detail, no matter the slide format.
Why old slides lose quality over time
Older slide films were created using dyes and emulsions that weren’t as stable or light‑fast as modern materials. As these elements age, they begin to break down, causing colours to fade, shift, or separate. UV exposure accelerates this process by damaging the chemical structure of the dyes, while heat, humidity, and long‑term storage can lead to spotting, mould, and uneven discolouration. Even slides kept in boxes or projectors can deteriorate gradually over time.
My meticulous process ensures each slide is carefully enhanced to recover its original clarity and vibrant colour, helping your old photos look as fresh as the day they were taken. Whether it’s a family holiday, a birthday celebration, or any other treasured memory, your slides are restored with precision and brought back to their full glory.
Restore old Slides from Any Film Format
Transparency (slide) film was produced in a wide range of formats, from the popular 35mm to medium‑format 120 (2¼”square), as well as 126 Instamatic and 127 Brownie cameras. I can professionally digitise and restore slides from any of these film formats, ensuring every image is preserved at the highest possible quality.
Each slide is carefully scanned, colour‑corrected, and restored to print‑ready clarity — no matter how old, faded, or damaged the original film may be. The two examples below show slides from 120 film (left) and 126 film (right).
Restore old slides to print-ready quality
Slides can be difficult to view today, especially as most people no longer have a projector or screen. By restoring or digitising your slides now, you can preserve them for the future and make them easy to share, print, and enjoy once again.
