Restore old Photos and repair damage with Archival Photo Restoration

Why repair and restore old photos ?

Have you ever flipped through old family albums and wished those photos looked as vibrant as the day they were taken? Restoring your cherished images is a powerful way to restore old photos and bring those precious moments back to life. Over time, photos can fade, tear, or develop spots and discolouration from UV light and the less durable emulsions used in the past.

Why old photos lose quality over time

Older photographs were created using emulsions and dyes that weren’t as stable or light‑fast as the materials used today. As these emulsions age, they naturally break down, causing colours to shift, fade, or separate. UV light speeds up this process by damaging the chemical structure of the dyes, while heat, humidity, and poor storage can lead to silvering, spotting, and uneven discolouration. Together, these factors gradually change the appearance of the image, even when the photo has been carefully kept.
