People used negative film or slide film to shoot all photos before the invention of digital photography. With this in mind, you may have an important or valued image for which the print has been lost, but you have kept the negative(s). For that reason, at John’s Photo Restoration we can scan and digitise negatives into print-ready positive images.
Equally, you can scan the negative yourself and send it to us to restore. Use a plain white wall or door, position your negative(s) and photograph on your smart phone. Click HERE if you need help with this.

Your quoted price will include:
- From original colour or black & white negatives (strip of up to four)
- Conversion to a positive image.
- Basic colour correction of colour images
- 100% satisfaction guaranteed
Please note that your quoted price would not include full restoration and enhancing. If restoration and/or colourisation is also required when we convert negatives into print-ready positives, please request a full restoration price if this is required. (A discounted rate is available if both services are applied to the same image at the same time).

Our easy process
- Digitise and prepare your image (If you’re unsure how to do that click HERE)
- Upload your image HERE
- We will assess your image and provide you with a confirmed price.
- When you agree the price, we will restore your image and email a rough proof to you with a 14-day invoice in AUD.
- You email approval or any changes you would like within that 14-day period
In Australia, you can pay the account using EFT or cash if calling in person.
Outside Australia, or if you wish to pay by credit/debit card, you can pay the account securely in over 100 international currencies using Stripe. Simply ask us for a Stripe invoice which includes an easy payment link. (Please note: Stripe invoices attract a 3% surcharge)
After you pay the account, we will email you a high-resolution copy of your image. We can also arrange printing at your request.
